What is a beauty supplier, and why do I need an account number?
This article provides information on the role of a distributor, aka beauty supplier, the significance of having an account number, and how it relates to fulfilling your clients' orders.
If you would like to offer your clients online retail through your Online Store, you will need a beauty supplier to fulfil your clients’ orders.
🔗 How do I set up my Online Store?
To use salon ordering through SalonInteractive, you will need a beauty supplier to fulfil your salon’s orders.
You can use any beauty supplier in your area that is on SalonInteractive.
Why is this important?
SalonInteractive uses a network of professional beauty suppliers to fulfill salon orders for backbar and retail, and client orders from your Online Store. These beauty suppliers are authorized to carry professional beauty brands in their areas, ensuring the quality and authenticity of the products they carry. Your account with your local beauty supplier proves that you are a licensed professional and enables the fulfillment of orders, both for your salon and your clients' orders from your Online Store.
What if I don’t have an account number or can’t find it?
If you have any receipts or invoices from recent purchases, your account number is likely at the very top or bottom of the document. If you can’t find your account number, ask your sales rep or store manager for help.
If you don’t have an account number, reach out to your beauty supplier directly to set one up. Because they only sell to licensed professionals, they will likely ask for your cosmetology, barber, or esthetics license in the application process.
How do I find out which beauty suppliers are available in my area?
During your SalonInteractive account set up, one of the first things you need to do is choose a beauty supplier in your area. When you enter your ZIP code, beauty suppliers on the SalonInteractive platform will appear.
If you haven't done this step yet, sign up for an account or log in to your existing one. The system will prompt you to choose a beauty supplier.
If you have already chosen a beauty supplier but want to see what others are available, log in to SalonInteractive and, from your menu, select eCommerce, then settings. Click the + sign in the distributor section to see what’s available.

How do I apply for an account number?
Each distributor is different, but in most cases, you can access an application or find the contact information on the distributor’s website.
