This article provides information on the role of a distributor, the significance of having an account number, and how it relates to fulfilling your clients' orders.
Your distributor is where/how you get your professional products to use on your clients or sell for retail. In some cases, that might be your local professional beauty supply, and in others, a sales rep from a distributor may have visited your business and set you up with an account. In that case, you likely have products delivered to you from the distributor’s warehouse.
Why is this important?
SalonInteractive uses a network of professional distributors to fulfill your client orders. These distributors are authorized to carry professional beauty brands in their area, which guarantees the quality and authenticity of the products. Your account with your local distributor proves that you are a licensed professional and sets up the fulfillment of your client orders.
What if I don’t have an account number or can’t find it?
If you have any receipts or invoices from recent purchases, your account number is likely on that document at the very top or bottom. If you can’t find your account number, ask your sales rep or store manager for help locating it.
If you don’t have a distributor account number, reach out to your distributor directly to set one up. Because they only sell to licensed professionals, they will likely ask for your cosmetology, barber, or esthetics license in the application process.
How do I know what distributors are available in my area?
During your set-up process with your Online Store, one of the first things you need to do is choose a distributor in your area. When you input your zip code, distributors on the SalonInteractive platform will show up.
If you haven't done this step yet, sign up for an account or log into your existing one. The system will prompt you to choose a distributor.
If you have already chosen a distributor but want to see what others might be available, log onto SalonInteractive and, from your menu, select eCommerce, then settings. Click the + sign in the distributor section to see what’s available.
How do I apply for an account number?
Each distributor is different, but in most cases, you can access an application or find the contact information on the distributor’s website.
