December 1, 2022
Great news! As your clients shop online with you, they will find many new improvements:
- Salon client users can shop by category or brand in an updated menu.
- An improved organization within the search results with a larger footprint for easier reading.
- Filters on products show as an overlay for easier use.
- All available sizes for each product will be displayed without having to use a dropdown.
- Users can also add products to their cart right from the product listing versus clicking through to each product page.
- Shoppers can view their account email and subscriptions from their profile menu.
- Crediting a stylist is easier with search functions and avatars by stylist names.
- Selecting a stylist to receive credit for recommending a product is easier now with easier search functionality and avatars by stylist.

A few tweaks to the theming features, including improved default images for some categories, the option to choose orientation when browsing Unsplash, and carousel Improvements for Brands & Categories to ensure that your clients can scroll through all Brands & Categories.

You can now personalize the look of your salon's online store with our new custom theming features. We've added several new color themes so you can reflect the aesthetic of your business and brand. With our custom image feature, you can now select new images for your product category headers, add your own messaging, and then link to wherever you want on your store. You can even highlight your favorite brands on your home page and connect all your business, booking, and social media links in the footer of your store so your clients can always find you.

Updates for this release include easier access to the Help Center from your SalonInteractive dashboard, a new banner color across the top of your online store, and more frequencies for subscriptions (added 4, 5, 6 months).

In addition to some backend improvements and minor bug fixes, we've enhanced page load times, added a loading progress bar and Google sign-in to part of the banking setup, and improved automation of diversion files to ensure brand availability is up to date.

We now use Plaid to safely verify and link your bank account to your online store, and Dwolla to seamlessly pay your commissions to your account. With this method, there are many ways in which a bank may opt to verify your account, all with easy-to-follow instructions that walk you through the process in real-time.

For anyone new onboarding onto the platform, there are several enhancements with this release:
- You can now preview a distributor and brands before setting up an online store.
- A new, user-friendly dashboard makes it faster to reach some of the more popular tools:
- Add/manage bank
- Add clients
- Add staff
- Send recommendations
- There is even an easier way to add and verify your bank using online banking.
- Uploading clients has been simplified, accepting only CSV files + an option to ask for help converting or uploading your files.
Also, your profile menu is now located in the top bar versus the side menu.
October 6, 2021
Your product catalog on the SalonInteractive platform has a new look and feel. You can also view Pending Brands, Active Brands, and Search All Products.
There was also an update to our return policy, which can be found in the footer of your online store. Your clients can now request a return label through the eCommerce store.

We’re continuing to evolve the look of the SalonInteractive platform and your online store, this time with a new font and subtle tweaks to our logo. We’ve also updated added a feature where your clients can click on the Global Banner Coupon, which will apply the coupon to their cart to ensure that they are able to take advantage of all possible deals and promotions.
July 29, 2021 (Release 5.35)
Yet more enhancements to the ecommerce platform. With this release:
- Clicks are now tracked for mass email campaigns. That way you can see how many of your clients actually clicked any of the links on your emails, including to your online store.
- If for any reason you turn off your salon ecommerce, your clients will no longer be able to make purchases through your online store (hint: don't turn it off!).
- If you remove a distributor from ecommerce settings, you will no longer be able to offer their products to your clients, but your association with that distributor.
- If for any reason, your distributor turns off ecommerce, your clients will not be able to purchase any products fulfilled by that distributor on your online store.
July 12, 2021 (Release 5.34)
We're thrilled to unveil the new look of your SalonInteractive sidebar. The makeover includes a more cohesive design and a better backend user experience. The new look comes with a few changes as well, including the removal of My Brands and Transactions from the menu (don’t worry your brands are still listed) and a re-design of the Settings and Salon Orders pages.
June 23, 2021 (Release 5.32)
- Credit Card processing form now includes CVV and Expiry Fields
- During the onboarding process (new salon users) the platform now shows your salon address preview on the Customize part of the process.
- Removing your bank account information and re-validating your bank (entering your info again) now clears any rejected commissions (should you have any). That way we can process commissions in the next payment cycle.
June 9, 2021 (Release 5.32)
Updates include:
- Can now add stylist images during sign-up.
- After uploading your client(s) successfully, the marketing permission pop-up allows you to adjust your on-behalf marketing settings, including opting out of all marketing if you desire.
- Your client's name is added to your salon commission email, so you can see who made purchases.
- You can minimize your distributor information on mobile for easier viewing.
May 19, 2021 (Release 5.31)
Yet more refinements to our onboarding process:
- Various styling adjustments.
- Added tooltips on the Customize page, which will answer questions or give how-to advice for specific features.
- Easier access to the Help Center from the Finalize page.
- A new sign-in banner on mobile.
- You can review your selections on the distributor page when the Customize Store button is selected.
- There's now a brand confirmation step if a brand is already selected through another distributor.
Also, your store guests can now view their order through the order emails.
April 29, 2021 (Release 5.30)
New Onboarding Flow and Design
- Salons can sign up and pick distributors, brands, and set up their store.
- Banking and Number of Seats are not part of the onboarding process and are accessible in settings.
- Salons can resume onboarding on login until they reach the Finalize Step
- Salons in Old Guided Setup will enter the best matching Onboarding page from guided setup (e.g. Distributor => Distributor)
- Salons on Banking will be directed to the Distributor Page so they can finish their banking steps later.
- Co-Branded Sign Up Pages are integrated with new onboarding Restricted Distributors such as Premier and DePasquale can only add one distributor only when signing up through their co-branded page.
New Marketing Settings Page
- Found under Client Connect in the sidebar
- Salons can set On-Behalf Marketing permissions per brand/distributor.
- If the salon has eCommerce on, only eCommerce Brands / Distributors are shown.
ecommerce Improvements:
- Cart now shows the amount needed to get free shipping
- Out of Stock products are sorted to the end of the product list
- This reworks logic to display eCommerce Products and needs one run of updated distributor products to work properly.
- Large Images are scaled-down when viewing a product
- Font Change to Nunito Sans
- Out of Stock Ribbon has been updated.
April 8, 2021 (Release 5.29)
Some great news regarding coupon codes: the coupon code banner at the top of your shop screen will now take your clients to a page showing eligible products for the coupon. There’s also a link to this same page under the coupon, in the code requirements. All of this will give your clients easier access to discounts and promotions on your store. And, once a coupon code is input, it will apply coupons across all distributors that have products represented on your store.
March 25, 2021 (Release 5.28)
A few minor updates this in release, including setting your salon's timezone on login (if not already done) based on your salon address, the continuation of other subscribed products even if one does not go through, and a bug fix on your store preview. Also, if you have an inactive Rosy account (for which SalonInteractive is integrated), you can now detach your SalonInteractive account (as long as you are the administrator for that salon).
March 11, 2021 (Release 5.27)
Your clients can now use a different address for billing versus shipping and can save a subscription address per individual subscription. And, a stored address will show validations if incomplete.
Also some fixes and enhancements to Mass emails, including better header and footer previews and brand selection for ads based on the distributor.
Free gifts now show in the global banner at the top of your online store.
February 24, 2021 (Release 5.26)
If any user needs to resend their confirmation email, the time in which the link can be used has been extended to 6 hours. Also, if your password needs to be reset, your email will automatically be confirmed if it has not been yet.

New Look, Feel & Functionality
- Your client’s profile pages have been redesigned
- Your client can now shop by product category groups or by all products
- Your clients can now change sizes if their desired product is out of stock
When sending product recommendations and taking advantage of On-Behalf Marketing, these new enhancements could significantly increase your online sales.
Improvements to promotions and in the overall checkout experience:
- When your clients check out from your online store and have a different billing address versus shipping address, the system will autocomplete the fields to save time and add security for payment processing.
- Easier visibility for any coupon codes
- Give your clients a last chance to take full advantage of all promotions - the coupon code will now display checkout.
- If your client is taking advantage of promotions and does not meet the requirements for that coupon code, they will receive a friendly pop-up alerting them.
It’s also now easier to understand your salon’s commission payment status:

- Getting set up for eCommerce was already pretty easy, but we've taken it to eleven! This release introduced Guided Setup, which will walk you through the setup step-by-step, all in about 5 minutes or less.

April 12, 2019 (Release 3.4)
- Distributors are now able to create Discount/Coupon codes for use in eCommerce. As if buying on SalonInteractive wasn't already great, now clients can potentially get the same products for less!
- We always tracked Client Connect unsubscribes, but now we're also tracking which campaign the client clicked on Unsubscribe from. It's a small enhancement but could help Salons determine which campaigns were better received than others.
- We upgraded our ACH commissions infrastructure. You won't notice anything in the application, but it's a good thing.

- With more and more Distributors and Brands coming onto the SalonInteractive platform, Salon Clients need to be able to place orders for any and all of them. Now they can! Salons are no longer limited to a single Distributor for eCommerce. Choose one, some, or all... it's up to you!
- We are increasing the feature set for DSCs (Distributor Sales Consultants). DSCs will be able to see previously placed Salon Orders, and even create new orders on behalf of the Salon. The DSCs will also see statistics related to eCommerce as well.

- We're excited to introduce a feature to increase eCommerce sales... Product Recommendations! For now, it's limited to salons coming from SalonRunner since it depends on Appointments, but you can recommend products to your clients, and send them an automated email suggesting they purchase them in your store. It couldn't be any easier!

- Distributors can now choose if they want to receive eCommerce New Order or Return Order email notifications.

- New salon accounts and new users of all accounts now are required to verify their email address before continued access is allowed.
- Stronger passwords are now required for new users. Existing users are not affected until they change or reset their password.
- Distributors now have a simple list view of all the Brands that are available to their associated Salons.
