How do I understand and track On Behalf Marketing emails?

On Behalf Marketing Tracking allows you to see how clients are interacting with your marketing emails.

To get started, log in to SalonInteractive. From your menu, go to On Behalf Marketing and then Reporting

OBM Reporting 1

The first page lists all of your marketing emails, starting with the most recent, with columns across the top for the following sections:

Campaign: Name and date of the email

Targeted:  How many clients the email attempted to reach

Delivered:  How many clients successfully received the email

Bounced:  How many emails failed to reach clients (typo in the email, inactive email, etc.)

Opens:  Number of clients who opened the email after receiving it

Clicks: Number of clicks on email links for opened emails

Unsubscribed: Number of clients who received the email and opted out of receiving further email communication

Sent By:  Who sent the email: your salon, your distributor, or one of your selected brands

To track a specific email sent, click on its name in blue. This action takes you to another screen, which populates a list of clients targeted for this email.

To view one specific set of results of that email, choose the desired category from the Status drop-down menu.

You have the option of:

Bounce: If a server cannot or will not deliver a message, the system considers it a bounce. Outdated or incorrectly entered email addresses often cause bounces.

Click: If a recipient opens an email and clicks on a call-to-action button or link in that email, that action is a click or click-through. Clicks are the most effective way to track email engagement.

Deferred: When an email isn't immediately delivered but isn't completely rejected, it is classified as deferred, sometimes called a soft bounce. The system will attempt to deliver a deferred message for up to 72 hours. If the email is still undeliverable after this time, the system will treat the situation as a block failure for that specific message.

Dropped: An email will not be sent to a recipient for delivery if the content flags as spam or the recipient has unsubscribed previously.

Open: An open email is the first step toward the action you want your recipient to take. Opens are counted every time a recipient views your email.

Processed: This event fires when the email system receives an individual message and prepares it for delivery.

Spam report: If the recipient’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) has deemed your message spam, the email is reported back to Client Connect as spam.

Unsubscribe: An unsubscribe is when a recipient purposely unsubscribes from your email, placing that contact on the unsubscribe list. Once unsubscribed, the recipient will no longer receive your marketing emails for On Behalf Marketing.
